Helping to maintain educational
excellence in the Nyack Public Schools

About Us

Who We Are and What We Do

nspire Nyack is a community-based, parent led, non-profit organization founded in 2007, whose goal is to help develop, implement and maintain educational excellence in the Nyack Public School system. Inspire Nyack strives to support creative learning opportunities for faculty and students K-12 in the Nyack schools through innovative educational programs. The cornerstone of the foundation’s contributions have been targeted towards science, technology and math programs including the successful pre-engineering and robotics curriculum. We are excited to expand our efforts to strategically support new initiatives that broaden the opportunity set for our children by bridging technology platforms into other scholastic disciplines such as art and music.

Project In Focus: Raise funds to open a MacLab at the Nyack Middle School by September 2017

Our goal is to raise $80,000 to fund the new arts production computer lab at the Nyack Middle School. The proposed NMS MacLab would be similar to the Inspire Nyack MacLab opened at the high school in September 2015. In the MacLab, the students will be able to create music, visual art & graphic designs while becoming adept at new technology. The lab will be powerful tool teachers can use to engage students in learning about computer science.

Why Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)?

STEM education integrates concepts to help find a solution to real world problems using project-based learning. The growth in STEM job opportunities are expected to be significantly above other occupations over the next 5 years, according to the US Department of Education.
