INSPIRE NYACK DAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
The Nyack School District celebrated Thomas Edison’s birthday last Friday at the elementary schools by introducing science through several assemblies and expos. At the Upper Nyack Elementary school, Liberty Science Center performed experiments where the children were actively involved in testing and proving their hypothesis about conductors and insulators of electricity. The Liberty Elementary school students participated in a Super Science Assembly exploring the properties of gravity which incorporated some magic that had the students and staff spellbound. At the Valley Cottage Elementary school, the children enthusiastically recreated some of Thomas Edison’s inventions. The assemblies were sponsored by the Inspire Nyack foundation. The children had a fantastic time and learned science can be fun!

THE ROBOTICS PROGRAM
The foundation is pleased that the District has utilized the contributions from Inspire Nyack to successfully expand its science, technology and math focus to include robotics.
Robotics is now an important component of the District’s developing pre engineering curriculum, grade K-5. In addition, Inspire Nyack is helping to fund the Authentic Science Research program in the High School.
